What is Awaab's law in scotland & WHO DOES IT AFFECT?
Awaab's Law introduces new legal duties for private and social landlords in Scotland to respond quickly when damp or mould is reported.
From 6 October 2026, landlords will have set timescales to investigate the problem, provide tenants with written findings and begin any necessary repair work. The aim is to ensure damp, condensation and mould problems are identified and dealt with quickly, helping to provide safer and healthier rented homes.
